Major Neolithic henge monument in the Peak District — 'the Stonehenge of the North.' 50 limestone blocks lie in a 76m oval within a ditch-and-bank enclosure. All stones now recumbent (possibly never stood). Connected by an earthwork avenue to Gib Hill barrow. Multiple solstice and lunar alignments documented. Sits at a crossing point of multiple ley lines.
