A stone labyrinth near Trondheim, associated with the medieval pilgrimage tradition to Nidaros Cathedral — the northernmost medieval cathedral in Europe and the burial site of St. Olav, Norway's patron saint. The pilgrimage route to Nidaros, revived in the 1990s, was one of Europe's great medieval pilgrimages, rivaling Santiago de Compostela. Labyrinths along pilgrimage routes served as symbolic substitutes for the Jerusalem journey. At Giza bearing 344.36°, 4,000 km from the Great Pyramid — exactly at the 4,000 km mark, a notable round number.
