The world's largest office building — 6.5 million square feet, 17.5 miles of corridors — was designed as a regular pentagon encoding the golden ratio in its internal geometry. Each internal angle measures 108° — a number sacred in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions (108 beads on a mala, 108 Upanishads, 108 earthly temptations). Groundbreaking occurred on September 11, 1941 — exactly 60 years before the 2001 attack. The building sits at 55.83° to Giza, within 0.02° of the Washington DC bearing, placing it on the same precise angular transmission line as the Capitol dome. The central courtyard, known as "Ground Zero" during the Cold War, contains a small café that was once the target point of Soviet nuclear war plans.
