King Senkamanisken's pyramid at Nuri (c. 643-623 BCE) stands in the royal necropolis of the Kushite 25th Dynasty, positioned at a 356.95° Giza bearing that aligns it nearly due south of the Great Pyramid across 1,274 km of Nile valley. Father of both Anlamani and Aspelta, Senkamanisken continued the Kushite tradition of pyramid burial after the dynasty lost control of Egypt. His tomb contained fine shabtis and canopic jars in the Egyptian funerary tradition, demonstrating the cultural persistence of pharaonic practices deep into the Napatan period. The Nuri necropolis holds 21 kings and 52 queens — the largest royal pyramid field outside of Egypt.
