The Tomb of the General near Ji'an, China (historic Goguryeo capital) is a precisely constructed step pyramid of dressed granite blocks — 13 meters tall with 7 tiers, often called the "Pyramid of the East." Built for a Goguryeo king (likely Jangsu, r. 413-491 CE), it is surrounded by four dolmen-like guardian tombs at its corners. The structure's clean geometric lines inspired Kim Il Sung's 1994 reconstruction of the mythical Dangun tomb. At 296.31° Giza bearing across 8,258 km, this Korean-style pyramid represents the easternmost expression of the stepped-pyramid archetype in continental Asia.
