The Pyramid of Hellinikon in the Argolid plain of Greece has confounded archaeologists since its rediscovery. Constructed from grey limestone blocks fitted without mortar in a technique reminiscent of Mycenaean cyclopean masonry, the structure's date is fiercely debated — thermoluminescence dating suggests 2720 BCE (±580 years), while ceramic evidence from Saul Weinberg's excavations points to the Early Helladic II period (2800-2500 BCE). If the earlier dates hold, Hellinikon would predate most Egyptian pyramids. At 134.65° Giza bearing, the pyramid sits on a ley line corridor connecting Greek sacred sites to Egypt. The structure's function — garrison, tomb, or hydraulic installation — remains an open question in Mediterranean archaeology.
