Completed in 2017, Apple Park is a 2.8-million-square-foot ring of curved glass enclosing a 30-acre courtyard — the largest naturally ventilated building in the world. Norman Foster's design describes a perfect circle 461 meters in diameter, clad in the largest panels of curved glass ever fabricated. The Ring sits on 175 acres in Cupertino at Giza bearing 24.32°, its circular geometry echoing the prehistoric henges of Foster's native Britain. The campus is 100% powered by renewable energy, with 17 megawatts of rooftop solar — the largest corporate solar installation on Earth. Beneath the surface, a 1,000-seat underground auditorium (Steve Jobs Theater) features a carbon-fiber roof supported by no internal columns, creating an uninterrupted resonance chamber. Foster also designed 30 St Mary Axe in London and the Reichstag dome in Berlin, placing his signature forms on three continents' energy grids.
