A queen's pyramid in the necropolis of Abusir, built during the Fifth Dynasty of Egypt (c. 2450 BCE). Khentkaus II was the wife of Pharaoh Neferirkare Kakai and mother of two kings. Her pyramid complex includes a mortuary temple with papyrus archives that provide some of the most detailed records of ancient Egyptian temple administration — including daily offerings, work schedules, and supply inventories. The Abusir Papyri discovered here are among the oldest administrative documents ever found.
