Majbacken Trojaborg, Garde

An 8-wall single-angle classical labyrinth at Majbacken near Garde, measuring 14.5x13.3 meters in an oval footprint. The 8-wall form is the simplest classical labyrinth design, tracing its lineage to Bronze Age Mediterranean prototypes. Garde parish on central-eastern Gotland contains one of the island's oldest churches (12th century) with Romanesque baptismal fonts carved from local limestone.
