Elaborate Postclassic murals in Mixteca-Puebla style once decorated its structures, revealing extensive trade connections with central Mexico. At 51.07° Giza bearing across 11,600 km, this gateway city sat at the maritime crossroads of Yucatan and Caribbean trade routes.
