Third subsidiary queen's pyramid on the eastern face of the Great Pyramid, designated G1-c. Conventionally attributed to Henutsen, third consort of Khufu and mother of his son Khafre. Base 46.25 metres per side, original height 30 metres at 51°. The internal substructure consists of a single descending corridor, an antechamber, and a sarcophagus chamber. The pyramid is the southernmost of the three queens' pyramids, closest to the Great Pyramid's southeast corner. The associated cult chapel was rebuilt in the 21st dynasty (~1000 BCE) as a temple to Isis; a stela found there in 1858 by Auguste Mariette, the so-called Inventory Stela, records that the Sphinx already stood when Khufu built his pyramid — a claim treated cautiously by mainstream Egyptology because it contradicts the conventional dating.
A queen's pyramid at Giza became a temple to Isis whose dedicatory stela claims the Sphinx is older than Khufu — and Egyptologists have spent 165 years arguing whether to believe it.
