Queens' pyramid 4 of Senusret I at el-Lisht, fourth of nine small queens' pyramids around the main pyramid of pharaoh Senusret I. Construction date approximately 1950 BCE. Original base approximately 20 metres per side; original height around 16 metres at a steep slope. Excavated by the Metropolitan Museum's expedition from 1906 onward. The substructure preserved a small vaulted burial chamber, an emptied sandstone sarcophagus, and the fragmentary lower courses of a mortuary chapel on the east face. No identifying inscription has been securely recovered. The nine queens' pyramids of this complex represent the single largest documented concentration of small queens' pyramids at any Egyptian royal complex of any period — yet of the nine occupants only three have been tentatively identified by name from associated artefacts, and even those attributions remain debated.
One of nine queens' pyramids whose occupant's identity has been irrecoverable since the day the canopic jars were broken.
