The Western Pyramid in the Pepi I funerary complex at South Saqqara, an additional small pyramid within the larger enclosure of pharaoh Pepi I Meryre (r. ~2321–2287 BCE) whose specific dedication has not been securely identified. Construction date approximately 2300 BCE. Original base approximately 19 metres per side; original height around 15 metres at a steep slope. Excavated by the French mission at Saqqara under Audran Labrousse from the 1990s onward. The substructure preserved a small vaulted burial chamber, fragmentary funerary equipment, and the lower courses of a mortuary chapel on the east face. The pyramid sits west of the row of nine queens' pyramids in the same complex but does not match the architectural template of either the queens' pyramids or the satellite pyramid of the king.
A small additional pyramid in the most densely subsidiary-populated royal complex of the Old Kingdom, whose function within the larger architectural programme of Pepi I's mortuary cult has not been fully reconstructed from the surviving material.
