The Ziggurat of Borsippa — called by Nebuchadnezzar II the 'Temple of the Seven Spheres' — remains one of the most visually striking surviving ziggurats, still standing 52 meters high. Its vitrified upper bricks, fused by repeated lightning strikes over millennia, created the legend that the structure had been destroyed by divine fire. Earlier Western scholars frequently misidentified it as the Tower of Babel. At 261.43° Giza bearing, it sits 17 km southwest of Babylon along the Mesopotamian geometric corridor. The seven stages were reportedly painted in seven planetary colors — black (Saturn), orange (Jupiter), red (Mars), gold (Sun), yellow (Venus), blue (Mercury), and silver (Moon).
