Bandurria is a preceramic monumental complex on the central Peruvian coast in Huacho, Lima Region, north of the Huaura River mouth. Radiocarbon dates place its earliest platform construction around 3200 BCE, contemporary with the early phases of nearby Caral and predating most Old World pyramid building. The site comprises six earthen and stone-faced platform mounds arranged around sunken circular plazas, built using shicra bags — woven reed sacks filled with stones — a construction technique shared across the Norte Chico tradition. Excavations directed by Rosa Marina Fung Pineda in the 1970s and renewed work by Alejandro Chu Barrera after 2005 recovered cotton textiles, fishing nets, gourd containers, and spondylus shell ornaments traded from coastal Ecuador. Bandurria's economy combined intensive marine fishing with cotton agriculture irrigated from the Huaura.
The platform faces of cobble and adobe still rise above the salt flats that separate the mounds from the surf line.
