Nazca Lines is a labyrinth installation in Nazca, Ica, Peru. The built of geoglyph. Documented age: ~500 BC - 500 AD (500 BC - 500 AD). Current condition: intact. Over 1,500 geoglyphs etched into the Peruvian desert floor between 500 BCE and 500 CE — figures of animals, plants, and geometric shapes spanning up to 370 meters, visible only from altitude. Documentation sources: UNESCO WHS. A pattern with one entrance, one path, and no choices — repeated by unrelated cultures across thousands of years. The labyrinth is one of several hundred sites of this type catalogued globally; each preserves the same unicursal walking-pattern with regional variation in scale, material, and date.
The labyrinth tradition spans at least 4,000 years of documented practice across northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the British Isles, North America, and the Indian subcontinent.
