Levi's Stadium is the home venue of the National Football League's San Francisco 49ers, located in Santa Clara, California, on the northern edge of Silicon Valley adjacent to the Great America theme park. The 68,500-seat stadium was designed by HNTB Architects in association with Devcon Construction and Turner Construction, broke ground in April 2012, and opened on July 17, 2014, at a final reported cost of approximately $1.3 billion, financed largely through long-term personal seat licences and a 20-year naming-rights agreement with the San Francisco-based jeans maker Levi Strauss & Co. The stadium incorporated a 27,000-square-foot green roof on the nine-story suite tower and a 1,186-panel rooftop solar array, becoming the first NFL stadium to earn LEED Gold certification for new construction. Levi's Stadium hosted Super Bowl 50 in February 2016, the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2019, and is scheduled to host Super Bowl LX in February 2026 and several matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup including a quarter-final.
The stadium replaced the 49ers' historic home at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, 38 miles to the north and now demolished.
