Rising from tidal flats off the Normandy coast, Mont Saint-Michel has been a sacred site since at least the 5th century, when a Roman-era temple occupied the granite island. In 708 CE, Bishop Aubert of Avranches built a church here after three visions of the Archangel Michael. The Benedictine abbey, begun in the 10th century, is an engineering marvel of Romanesque and Gothic construction stacked vertically to 80 meters — its nave built on a platform of crypts designed to counterbalance the granite peak's slope. At Giza bearing 114.93° and precisely on the Apollo/St. Michael ley line at a 30° bearing from Skellig Michael, the island creates a tidal electromagnetic node: the bay's 14-meter tidal range (among the highest in Europe) generates enormous piezoelectric effects as seawater surges across miles of sedimentary flats. The abbey church's spire, crowned with a gilded statue of Michael slaying the dragon, functions as a lightning attractor drawing atmospheric charge to the ley line.
