Nim Li Punit, perched on a ridge in Belize's Toledo District, is renowned for its collection of 26 carved stelae — including the longest in Belize at over 9 meters. The name, meaning 'Big Hat' in Kekchi Maya, refers to an elaborate headdress depicted on one of the stelae. A 2015 discovery of a carved jade pendant with 30 hieroglyphs — the largest Maya jade inscription ever found — suggests this small site punched far above its weight in the Classic Maya political landscape. At 51.30° bearing to Giza across 11,789 km, connecting the Toledo District to the broader Mesoamerican alignment network.
