Sechin Alto was the largest construction in the Americas at the time of its building — circa 1800-900 BCE — and remains the biggest pre-Columbian monument in Peru by total volume. The main mound measures 300 meters long, 250 meters wide, and 44 meters tall, with five plazas extending 1,400 meters from its face. Part of the larger Sechin Complex in the Casma Valley, which includes Cerro Sechin and its famous carved warriors. The sheer scale of Sechin Alto in the Initial Period suggests organized labor mobilization comparable to contemporaneous Old World civilizations. At 61.39° Giza bearing, this monumental platform anchors the Casma Valley's alignment corridor.
