Chavin de Huantar houses the Lanzon — a 4.53-meter dagger-shaped monolith with a fanged being, standing deep inside pitch-black underground galleries. Built 1200-500 BCE at 3,180 meters elevation, the temple is an acoustic masterpiece: water channels create roaring sounds that amplified ritual, while the Lanzon's chamber produces specific resonant frequencies. The site unified Andean cultures through pilgrimage and psychotropic ritual. At 61.45° Giza bearing, Chavin's use of darkness, sound, and altered consciousness represents the pyramid turned inward.
