Tomb S10

Thirteenth-Dynasty subsidiary tomb at South Saqqara, designated S10 in the Jéquier survey, immediately adjacent to S9 within the enclosure of the Southern South Saqqara pyramid. Construction date approximately 1730 BCE. Original base approximately 26 metres per side; original height around 18 metres. Excavated by Gustave Jéquier in 1930. The substructure preserved a quartzite burial chamber with a sliding roof, an empty sarcophagus, and the lower courses of a small mortuary chapel on the east face. No inscribed material naming the occupant has been recovered. The construction sequence indicates S9 and S10 were built simultaneously, suggesting twin queens, sibling royals, or a king-and-co-regent burial pair.

The southern of two anonymous satellite pyramids in an enclosure whose central pyramid is itself anonymous — three connected royal tombs at a single site, all built within a generation, none of them naming a single occupant.
