The Tower of Calatafo in eastern Sicily is one of the least documented pyramid-form structures in the Mediterranean. Its stepped stone construction and commanding hilltop position echo patterns seen across the broader Sicilian pyramid phenomenon. At 114.78° Giza bearing, Calatafo aligns with the ley line corridor threading through Mediterranean island pyramid sites from Sardinia to Sicily to mainland Greece. The structure's name suggests medieval Arabic influence ('Qal'at' meaning fortress), but the underlying architecture may be considerably older. Sicily's nearly 40 identified pyramid structures suggest a systematic building tradition rather than isolated anomalies — a pattern that invites comparison with North African and Levantine stepped monuments.
