A Roman labyrinth mosaic at Dougga (ancient Thugga) — one of the best-preserved Roman towns in North Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town's hilltop position, 2nd-century Capitol temple, theater seating 3,500, and Libyo-Punic mausoleum span a thousand years of occupation from Numidian through Roman periods. Over 200 mosaics have been recovered from Dougga's villas. At Giza bearing 295.2°, 2,155 km from the Great Pyramid, Dougga sits in the fertile Medjerda valley that was Rome's breadbasket.
