Ratu Boko, a hilltop complex covering 16 hectares just 3 km south of Prambanan, defies easy classification: part fortified palace, part monastic retreat, part cremation ground. A dry moat and massive stone gateway suggest defense; meditation caves and Buddhist pendopo suggest spiritual practice. Both Hindu and Buddhist artifacts have been found. Its elevated position commands panoramic views of the Prambanan Plain, Mount Merapi, and the southern Java Sea. At 301.26° bearing to Giza across 9,427 km, Ratu Boko sits at the geometric apex of the Prambanan Plain sacred triangle.
