The Great Palace at Sayil is the largest single Maya structure in the northern Yucatan — a three-story colonnaded palace containing 94 rooms spread across 85 meters of frontage. Built in the Puuc architectural style (800-1000 CE), its middle level features the famous descending god figure and elaborate mosaic facades. Sayil supported a population of 10,000 using chultuns (underground cisterns) in this waterless landscape. The palace's 50.11° Giza bearing places it squarely in the Puuc Hills alignment corridor, where five major Maya cities share nearly identical geometric relationships to the Giza meridian.
