Phnom Bok is the highest of Yasovarman I's three hill temples at 235 meters elevation — part of the triangulation triad with Phnom Bakheng and Phnom Krom. Three sandstone towers for the Trimurti (Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma) crown the summit. Research has demonstrated a summer solstice sunrise alignment from Angkor Wat eastward to Phnom Bok, suggesting the hill was deliberately incorporated into Angkor's astronomical grid. Rarely visited compared to its more accessible siblings, the atmospheric ruins retain an isolation that evokes their original function. At 297.26° Giza bearing, Phnom Bok marks the eastern apex of Yasovarman's sacred triangle.
