Shepherd's Race, Boughton Green is a turf-cut labyrinth in Northamptonshire, England. The design is a medieval chartres layout with 11 circuits, 12 walls, approximately 11.2 metres in diameter, built of turf. Documented age: Medieval (destroyed 1916-7) (Medieval (destroyed 1916-7)). Current condition: destroyed. A turf maze at Boughton Green in Northamptonshire known as 'Shepherd's Race,' destroyed by a military encampment during World War I in 1916-17. The labyrinth is one of several hundred sites of this type catalogued globally; each preserves the same unicursal walking-pattern with regional variation in scale, material, and date.
