The Koh Ker pyramid (Prasat Thom) is a seven-tiered stepped pyramid rising 36 meters — the only true pyramid structure in Southeast Asia. Built during Jayavarman IV's brief relocation of the Khmer capital to Lingapura (928-944 CE), the summit originally supported a massive 4-meter Shiva lingam, the largest ever carved. Over 40 temples were constructed during this 16-year capital period, suggesting enormous labor mobilization. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2023.
