A glass and steel pyramid in Nur-Sultan (Astana), Kazakhstan, designed by Norman Foster and completed in 2006 as the permanent venue for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The 77-meter pyramid hosts representatives of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism — the only building on Earth purpose-built for interfaith convergence at the leadership level. The apex contains a stained glass oculus by Brian Clarke depicting 130 doves representing the nations of Kazakhstan's ethnic groups. At 51.12°N latitude and 250.32° to Giza, it sits on the Kazakh Steppe — the flattest terrain on Earth — making the pyramid form visible for dozens of kilometers.
