Lucca Cathedral Labyrinth (San Martino) is a rock-carved labyrinth in Tuscany, Italy. The design is a medieval chartres layout with 11 circuits, 12 walls, approximately 0.5 metres in diameter, built of rock carving. Documented age: 12th-13th century (1100 - 1250 AD). Current condition: intact. Carved on the right pier of the portico of San Martino Cathedral in Lucca, this 80-centimeter finger labyrinth bears a Latin inscription referencing Daedalus: 'Hic quem Creticus edit Daedalus est Labyrinthus' ('This is the labyrinth built by the Cretan Daedalus'). Documentation sources: Saward 2003, Kern 2000. The same seven-circuit topology appears at this site as at every other classical labyrinth on Earth.
The labyrinth is one of several hundred sites of this type catalogued globally; each preserves the same unicursal walking-pattern with regional variation in scale, material, and date.
